ShipBob receiving discrepancy: what to do
Every shipment you send to ShipBob is a Warehouse Receiving Order (WRO). When the WRO closes, the numbers should match what you sent. When they don't, units are missing from your inventory.
1. Know the three numbers
- Expected quantity: what you said you were sending.
- Received quantity: what actually arrived at the warehouse.
- Stowed quantity: what was put away and added to your available stock.
If received is lower than expected, units didn't arrive or weren't counted. If stowed is lower than received, units arrived but didn't make it into your sellable stock, often because they were marked damaged.
2. Wait for the WRO to complete
A WRO goes through Awaiting, Arrived (or Partially Arrived), Processing and finally Completed, which means fully received, inspected and put away. Compare the numbers once it's Completed. If a WRO sits in Processing for days, ShipBob recommends contacting support with the WRO ID.
3. Raise it with ShipBob support
Open a ticket with ShipBob and include:
- The WRO ID and each SKU with expected, received and stowed quantities.
- Carrier proof of delivery and the number of boxes or pallets delivered.
- Your packing list and the supplier invoice showing the unit cost.
Ask them to recount or investigate, and to credit you for any units they can't find. Check your ShipBob agreement for how lost inventory is reimbursed.
Doing this for every WRO
StockBack connects to ShipBob with your own API token, reads every completed WRO, flags each SKU where fewer units were received than you sent, and writes the support message with the evidence attached.
